High Electric Bills stressing you out? Go Solar now!

You may be one of those who are afraid to know about their electricity bills every month. Higher electric bills causes stress as your monthly budget on electricity bills exceeds and you are not sure of the amount you need to set aside for your utility cost. With the advancement of technology, a number of modern day appliances have come up making life easier. However, these appliances consume a lot of electricity to function. Another reason why electric bills are high is that one may keep the devices plugged in when it is not in use which also sucks electricity. Furthermore, there are people who misuse electricity. So it is time to go solar now as it will help to reduce electricity bills.

Data related to residential power consumption

Since 2000, electricity consumption in Indian homes has tripled. The percentage of homes having electricity has increased to more than 80% in 2017 from 55% in 2001. On an average, the electricity consumption of a household per month was 90 units (kWh) in 2014. According to data collected by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) from distribution companies, all the states have demonstrated a sharp rise in total residential electricity consumption. For instance, the total electricity generated in 2015 was 1107.822 BU, out of which residential consumption amounted to 221.5644 BU. The total population of India at that time was estimated at 1.25 billion, out of which electrified population was 1.00 billion. Therefore, average residential electricity consumption per person (221.5644/1.00) was 221.21 units for an average family size of 4 persons. Average annual residential consumption was 884.84 units.

How adapting residential solar panels can benefit?

The most important benefit of adapting residential solar panels is that it reduces or eliminates electricity bills. Since solar energy is derived from the sun, Residential Solar Panels are a great way to reduce energy cost. It is a renewable source of energy and will never run out in your lifetime. When electricity is generated through solar panels, no harmful greenhouse gases are released. It has a positive impact on the environment as it helps to combat emission of greenhouse gases. It is a long-term investment as the cost is recovered within 6-10 years and it can generate power for 25 years. The value of your property gets appreciated. Solar energy is a reliable source of energy, as it can never turn into a monopoly business.

Solar systems usually come with a warranty period of 25 years. To calculate the return it provides, a span of 25 years should be considered. It takes somewhere between 6 to 10 years to recover the cost of solar panels. Since Residential Solar Panels generates power for about 25 years, for the rest of the 19 to 15 years you continue to get electricity at no cost as solar panels require very little operating expenses. The most important criteria for solar energy is abundance of sunlight which India already has. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in India has introduced various CFA schemes to promote solar energy in India. Some of these are:
  1. Scheme for Solar Parks and Ultra Mega Solar Power Projects.
  2.  Installation of grid-connected solar PV power projects under Phase-II with support of VGF through SECI

By 2022, the government in India aims to achieve 100 GW of solar panel capacity.

Why Should You Consider Learning Solar Engineering Or Become A Part Of The Solar Industry

It is quite unfortunate that most countries and their people still consider solar energy as an alternative source of power. Nevertheless, this designation isn’t preventing solar power from quickly becoming a primary source of energy in several parts of the world. According to specialists, renewable sources will provide more energy to commercial institutions and homes than oil, coal, or natural gas in the future. A recent study declared that the solar enterprise recruited more employees than non-renewable energy industries in 2016 in various parts of the world. Yes, the world of solar energy comes with job opportunities. That is why many youngsters are seeking to chase careers in solar energy production. You too could be a suitable candidate for this field. It doesn’t matter whether you are about to start your career venture or simply shifting to a different industry. Here are some reasons why you should consider building a career in the solar world. How Can Business Organizations Benefits From Solar PV System Design

One of the highest overhead costs that business owners have to face is the expenses related to electricity. Since you have to rely on commercial power grids, it means that you have to put up with the fluctuating rates of electricity use. If the price increases suddenly, then it will add to the uncertainties associated with running the business. It will particularly affect your cash-flow management. That is why the time is ripe to reduce that load and allow your company to benefit from the installation of solar power generation systems by Mahindra Susten. Solar power panels are rapidly becoming mainstream alternative sources of energy all over the world.   Reasons to go solar Many people know that the residential PV system design can bestow profound benefits upon the homeowner. However, you want to find out whether the installation of solar power generation systems will prove beneficial to your business organization or not. Apart from utilizing a renewable energ...

The 3 Types of Solar Power Modules

Solar PV modules were originally introduced in the 1950s - can you believe it? Yes, they have really been around that long. However, they were inefficient and expensive, so they remained unpopular. Only in recent years has the cost of solar power become feasible for large-scale industrial, commercial and domestic use. This has happened because solar power modules have evolved multiple times. There are now three main types: monocrystalline, polycrystalline and thin-film. Each type has its own pros and cons. PV Cells: A brief history In any type of solar cell, silicon crystals generate electric current after absorbing sunlight. This process is the photovoltaic effect. Monocrystalline technology has been around for the longest time, but is facing competition from polycrystalline and thin-film technology. Depending on the end consumer’s budget, local laws and availability of land / sunlight hours, the solar module installer will choose one of these three technologies. Mo...
